Dinosaurs in the Wild vacancies
Dinosaurs in the Wild is a unique, immersive live-action adventure within which visitors travel back in time 67 million years and come face to face with dinosaurs. The adventure has already visited Birmingham and is currently at Event City in Manchester. It will open in London within a purpose built structure on the Greenwich Peninsula in mid-February 2018 and run till early September.

Kilimanjaro Live are recruiting venue management staff to work closely with the touring event in order to provide an effective and comfortable home for the adventure. The roles will start at the beginning of February with some training days ahead of that.

Dinosaurs in the Wild – Venue Manager
To manage the operation and operational staff of the venue providing an effective and well run home environment for the Dinosaurs in the Wild attraction.

Duties and Responsibilities
– To ensure all services are opened and fully operational at scheduled times, standards are maintained throughout the service, particularly delivering exceptional levels of customer care and satisfaction, and affecting a smooth handover of shifts.
– Work closely with the Dinosaurs in the Wild Event Manager to ensure the smooth running of venue operational aspects of the event and ensure regular operational staff training takes place
– Ensuring operational and service checklists are completed thoroughly, with attention to detail focusing on service led issues.
– Effective ordering and management of consumable goods including the secure and safe keeping of stock, goods and equipment, ensuring that stock is accounted for and that control procedures are complied with.
– Ensure that the rostering of staff (whether directly or indirectly through sub-contracted suppliers) is managed effectively so that both the quality of service and staff welfare is maintained.
– Ensure the induction and training of staff within the department so that staff and contractors have the skills and knowledge to undertake their work safely and accurately, whilst delivering high standards customer care and exceptional standards.
– Ensuring staff are punctual, in correct uniform, and complying with the general guidelines outlined by the management.
– Oversee the recruitment and selection of additional staff.
– Ensure all human resource policies and procedures are adhered to.
– Work closely with the Box Office Manager and Merchandise Manager to support the sales functions and cash handling resulting from those sales.
– Ensure that the venue is run in a safe, orderly and disciplined manner in accordance with the conditions of the licenses, policy and Health & Safety requirements.
– Ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained in the main venue and associated areas, including offices and the DITW set itself (in conjunction with the Event Manager), supported by a cleaning schedule and adherence to best practice.
– Ensure that the building and facilities are well maintained and are in a serviceable state, liaising with contractors and suppliers to operate a both routine maintenance schedule and an out of hours or emergency repair procedure.
– Work in safe manner, seeking to minimise hazards to ensure the safety of other staff and customers, and reporting all safety hazards.
– Ensure that all health & safety, fire and building regulations and procedures are complied with.
– Act as Venue Duty Manager alongside the Assistant Venue Manager.
– Monitor, supervise and report back the work of the security staff.
– Review and update Risk Assessments in liaison with the Health and Safety Manager, and ensure understanding amongst staff.
– Reporting incidents in the Duty Log and filing reports to other staff as required (minor/major incidents & accidents).
– Work closely with the creative and production teams to support the performance of shows and welfare of the cast and crew via the Event Manager and the Assistant Event Manager.
– Liaise with external suppliers as necessary.

Dinosaurs in the Wild – Assistant Venue Manager
To work under the instruction and supervision of the Venue Manager ensuring the operation and operational staff of the venue providing an effective and well run home environment for the Dinosaurs in the Wild attraction.

Duties and Responsibilities
– Act as duty manager alongside the Venue Manager, and as such;
– Ensure all services are opened and fully operational at scheduled times, standards are maintained throughout the service, particularly delivering exceptional levels of customer care and satisfaction, and affecting a smooth handover of shifts.
– Work closely with the Dinosaurs in the Wild Event Manager to ensure the smooth running of venue operational aspects of the event and ensure regular operational staff training takes place
– Ensure operational and service checklists are completed thoroughly, with attention to detail focusing on service led issues.
– Effective and efficient management of the staff working within the operational teams (Venue Management, Medical, Site Security, Cleaning, Box Office).
– Check that staff are punctual, in correct uniform, and complying with the general guidelines outlined by the management and report any concerns to the Venue Manager.
– Work closely with the Box Office Manager and Merchandise Manager to support the sales functions and cash handling resulting from those sales.

Dinosaurs in the Wild – Box Office Manager
We’re looking for 2 experienced box office managers for Dinosaurs in the Wild, a brand new exciting family adventure that has successfully launched in Birmingham in June this year and that will move to London in February 2018.

This is a 7 months temporary position with possibility to extend. The onsite box office requires to be covered 7 days a week (various day hours) and therefore we’re looking at 2 managers to work on a flexible rota.

The main duties would be to:
– Manage the day to day admin of the box office.
– Supervise the cashiers.
– Overlook the daily sales.
– Provide prompt and accurate reporting.
– Daily financial reconciliation.
– Banking.
– Process internal bookings and guest tickets.
– Assist with any customer services enquiries.
– Supervise the scanning process and to liaise with the FOH team to ensure smooth admission operations.

Applicants must have a strong knowledge of box office operations (including confident with ticketing systems and procedures), high standards of customer services and ideally would be very organised, with good attention to detail and able to work under pressure.
